In my review of Sherlock Holmes I was excited to finally see a movie really about him and not another movie that hinted at a duo like them. So, I was going into the movie with high expectations and I’m happy to say I wasn’t too disappointed.

Sherlock Holmes really pulls the history of London into the film and really gives some funny ideas as to way things were developed. The story encompasses 2 love stories and various fight sequences moving the story along. It follows Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr.) and Dr. John Waston (Jude Law) as they chase after Lord Blackwood (Mark Strong), because of his use of “black magic” and the murder of 5 people and kidnapping of Irene Adler (Rachel McAdams). The special effects and action sequences are done very well and I found myself stopping whatever I was doing to pay more attention to the movie (I usually have to be either on the computer or playing a game, I can’t just sit still and watch). The sequences when Sherlock plays the fight out in his mind in a flash-forward shows that even in fighting he thinks more about strategy than strength. These are some of the best parts of the movie. If your looking for a good movie to watch on the weekend I recommend you check this movie out.

The Invention of Lying was so boring I don’t think I can talk about it very much at all. It’s plot was a world without lying, yeah I know sounds nice and somewhat special. I just wish it really was!! It just seemed like it was 40 minutes longer than it needed to be. It also seemed to want to take a crack at religion and the idea of god, which was funny, but a little harsh on people of religion.
The movie’s cast was big names like Tina Fey, Rob Lowe, Louis C.K., Jennifer Garner, and Ricky Gervais, but it just couldn’t save the movie. I wouldn’t waste your time watching this.

Yes, that’s right, Alvin and the Chipmunks The Squeakquel, the cast brings back Justin Long, Jason Lee, David Cross, Matthew Gray Gubler, Jesse McCartney, and added Zachary Levi (Chuck from the NBC TV Series Chuck) as Toby Dave’s cousin and Amy Poehler,

Anna Faris and Christina Applegate as the Chipettes. The movie is fun and actually quite entertaining even for me. It has

some jokes that only the parents or young adults would get mostly so they are not bored when bring their kids to see it.

The animation was done very well and acting fit the movie style. The chipmunks sing recent music hits and go to school. While at school they are asked to sing to save the music department from being shut down. The movie was a true live animation movie with a true kid’s plot.

My final word is if you liked the first one you’ll like this one as well.

Most movies I watch there is a defined good vs. evil plot and you either cheer for the good guy and boo the bad guy or see how the bad guy is going to make his/her next move and are happy when the good guy stops his/her plan. This movie didn’t have that!! You

had a guy striking revenge on the people who killed his wife and daughter and the lawyer who did what he could to stop them from going free. I know right now your saying that is exactly what you just described above and your right, if that’s where it ended with the plot. Instead that only takes up the first 7 minutes of the film, the rest is the “good guy” going after everyone else that had anything to do with the trail that gave one of the killers of his wife and daughter a lighten sentence. So, here in lays the problem do you cheer for the “good guy” to complete his revenge or cheer for the “evil” justice system to stop him from doing it. I have to say I couldn’t cheer for either, yet I couldn’t stop watching it and wanting to see what would come next.
So, the movie itself was one of my favorite action/suspense movies and I thought Gerard Butler plays a really good psychopath, almost as good as Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lector.
Jamie Foxx plays the lawyer, but it’s not his best drama style character, it’s seem like it was just a part he didn’t want to do.
I still highly recommend that you check this movie out and be ready to have to choose one side or the other.

The actors for the movie were cast perfectly in their roles and the movie didn’t really have a part I would have taken out. Zach Galifianakis is one of the funniest people I have seen in a long time. I prefer his acting over Jack Black anyday. He seems to be able to pull an audience through any scene, regardless of the mood, with a laugh.
The DVD/BR doesn’t have much in features worth it, except for the outtakes, BUT the movie alone is worth the money. This movie gets my approval and definately recommend it to anyone out there looking for a great “slap-stick” comedy.

Now, for those of you that are fans of the first movie, the second won’t disappoint. It has just about the whole cast back (even Rocco for flashbacks). The movie helps to tie together some of the questions people may have had about the brothers’ father and why he becomes the hit-man he was.

It still has the same comedic feel as the first one and doesn’t seems to lose interest throughout like most sequels tend to do. I loved this movie, I can’t say it’s an excellent movie, it does get cheesy at times, but it’s a very entertaining film and a good to fans of the first one.

I will warn you that if you are not a fan of violence and excessive language, this is not a film for you, but if you are a fan of that kind of thing, than by all means watch both of the films and be ready for a possibility of a third.

1. I miss the technology of the newer movies. Some things just don’t seem to age as well as cheese and wine do.

2. I start to question my taste in movies. I have watched tons of movies in my life and it seems that anything older than 10 years just makes me have to think too hard as to why I liked it.

The movie features Mel Gibson pre- Lethal Weapon and Braveheart and pre-AA. I guess I should have watched the original first to at least give it a chance, LOL. The movie just seemed to be extremely predictable and totally boring. I managed to solve a Rubik’s cube 10 times in the span of the movie. They should have skipped this one and just went with Thunderdome. I would recommend seeing the original Mad Max and Mad Max beyond Thunderdome. If you absolutely have to watch all of them be prepared to be bored quickly.
